Prenatal Yoga

Develop a sense of relaxation, confidence, and body awareness to enhance the birth process. Relaxation, breath work, strengthening, and stretching will be our focus. Come and meet new moms while you journey through this special and amazing time of life.

We share new developments with our pregnancies in a first few minutes of getting settled and getting to know each other. The yoga we do is appropriate for all stages of pregnancy, involving stretching, strengthening, and preparing for the big day. We also discuss what exercises should be avoided during different times of the pregnancy. There is also a time of simple meditation and relaxation to learn these techniques for anytime you may need them.

There is a lot of laughter, shared joy, and growing—literally!—in these ongoing classes.

Leah Reichardt-Osterkatz

100000367_largeHaving studied social work and interfaith ministry, Leah remains continuously curious about what works to promote well-being, vitality, and wholehearted living. She finds both physically challenging asana and meditative stillness to be sources of profound growth and joy. She works to bring these benefits to her students through flow yoga classes that are inspired and informed by many different teachers and traditions. Leah’s prenatal classes are a place to connect with other pregnant women, learn basic centering techniques, build strength and flexibility, rest, and relax.

Leah completed the 200-hour Carolina Yoga Teacher Training program with Sage Rountree and Lies Sapp and the 85-hour Prenatal Teacher Training program with Andrea Dixon and Sara Doyle. She is currently working toward completion of the 500-hour program with Sage and Mira Shani.

Anyone who is eligible for food stamps or WIC can attend Leah’s classes for free. Contact
